PV systems (0.5 kW - 20 kW):Tier 1 $1.00/watt Tier 2: $1.25/watt estimated production/year up to 25% of project cost(35% for non-profit and public) up to $50,000.
Extra Bonus for Energy Star Homes
Owners of Wisconsin ENERGYSTAR® Homes and existing homes that have participated in the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR Program are eligible for a $500 bonus toward the cost of their solar electric or solar hot water system.
Wind energy systems:
Wind-energy systems (20 kW or less): 25% of project cost up to $35,000
(residential, non-residential) or 35% of project cost up to $35,000 (non-profit, public).

- Heat pump must have at least two stages of heat output; there can be no electric back-up heat with the system; including plenum heaters and baseboard heat.

Central Air Conditioners & Air Source Heat Pumps
- Units must be installed with a furnace that qualifies for the Gas Furnace Cash-Back Reward
- SEER will be determined by the condenser, evaporator coil, and furnace/air handler motor
- Systems must include a thermal expansion valve (TXV) or electronic expansion valve (EXV or EEV) to automatically adjust refrigerant flow through the system.
- Both the condenser and evaporator coil must be replaced.
- Proper airflow and refrigerant charge must be achieved on all A/C installations. Instructions to achieve proper refrigerant charge and airflow may be found in the Instructions section at the end of this guide or at focusonenergy.com/hvac.
- The refrigerant line diameters must meet the manufacturer specifications for the unit being installed. If existing lines do not meet the required standards, they must be replaced with the appropriate size.

- Every combination must meet the SEER requirement.
- Systems must include a Thermal Expansion Valve (TXV) or Electronic Expansion Valve (EXV or EEV) to automatically adjust refrigerant flow through the system.
- Both the condenser and evaporators must be replaced.
- Must replace an existing air conditioner or air-source heat pump in a Wisconsin residence.
- Must be purchased by occupant. A landlord cannot purchase for rental units.
Gas Furnace Focus on Energy - Natural Gas or LP (Propane) Reward Amount: $150 This Cash-Back Reward is only available for models on the Pre-Qualified Equipment List. A qualifying forced air heating system must have the following attributes:
- Have an efficiency rating of at least 90% AFUE.
- Use a variable-speed blower motor, which can be called by a variety of names including electronically commutated motor (ECM) and efficient brushless DC motor.
- Have at least two stages of firing.
- Be a sealed-combustion unit.
- Be the primary heating source for the home.
- Use electricity that is purchased from a participating electric utility
If only a water heater remains vented through the chimney when the old boiler is removed, a chimney liner must be installed in the flue. SEEARP - Natural Gas or LP (Propane) Reward Amount: $200 A qualifying furnace must have the following attributes:
- Have an efficiency rating of at least 90% AFUE.
- Have a variable-speed blower motor, which can be called by a variety of names including electronically commutated motor (ECM) and efficient brushless DC motor.
- Vary its output based on the amount of heating load (have at least two stages of firing).
- Be a sealed-combustion unit.
- Be the primary heating source for the home.
- Replace an existing furnace in a Wisconsin residence.
- Be purchased by occupant. A landlord cannot purchase for rental units.
SEEARP - Oil Reward Amount: $200 A qualifying furnace must have the following attributes:
- Have an efficiency rating of at least 85% AFUE.
- Be the primary heating source for the home.
- Replace an existing furnace in a Wisconsin residence.
- Be purchased by occupant. A landlord cannot purchase for rental units.
Flue Closure Reward Amount: $75 This reward is only available to customers who purchase and install a qualified Efficient Heating & Cooling furnace or boiler and the chimney is no longer used. Approved Flue Closure Protocol must be followed. NOTE:
Customers may only receive one Flue Closure Cash-Back Reward from Focus on Energy. Customers who receive the Flue Closure reward from Efficient Heating & Cooling cannot receive an additional Flue Closure reward through the Water Heating program or the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® program. A Focus on Energy representative may contact the homeowner and schedule a site visit to verify flue was properly closed.
Hot Water Boiler Focus on Energy - Natural Gas Reward Amount: $400 (≤ 300MBH) This Cash-Back Reward is only available for models on the Pre-Qualified Equipment List. A qualifying natural gas boiler must have the following attributes:
- Have an efficiency rating of at least 90% AFUE.
- Modulate its firing rate.
- Have an outdoor air reset control.
- Be a sealed-combustion unit.
- Be the primary heating source for the home.
- Use natural gas that is purchased from a participating natural gas utility

Central Air Conditioning Cash rebates are available for central air conditioners based on seasonal energy efficiency rating (SEER) and size after the units have been installed and are connected to PPCS' load management system. Under the load management program, PPCS will cycle your air conditioner (ON 15 minutes and OFF 15 minutes per hour) during peak demand periods. Proof of purchase is required.

The Saver Switch, installed at no charge, will allow St. Croix Electric Cooperative to interrupt the flow of electricity to the condenser unit of my cooling system for alternating 15 minute periods of time when the load on their electrical system is critical.

Heating System Rebates CenterPoint Energy's high efficiency heating rebate program provides rebates of up to $200 to customers who upgrade or replacetheir furnace or boiler to a high efficiency model. Customers can save money today, and in years to come, with lower energy bills.Rebate levels are:
· $150 rebate for installing a natural gas forced air furnace with 92% or higher AFUE
· $300 rebate for installing a natural gas forced air furnace with94% or higher AFUE
· $300 rebate for installing anatural gas boilerwith 83.5% or higher AFUE

Hot Water Rebates These rebates are available to CenterPoint Energy customers who purchase a qualifying high efficiency natural gas tank water heater with a .62 Energy Factor (EF) or higher*. (Tankless or instantaneous water heaters do not qualify for this rebate.) The two rebate levels are:
· $50 rebate for installing a high efficiency natural gas tank water heater with .62 EF or higher,
· $75 rebate for installing a high efficiency natural gas tank water heater with .64 EF or greater

Ground Source Heat Pump
ENERGY STAR ® qualified closed-loop systems only $150 per ton Heat pumps may also be eligible for the Backup Relief electric rate option. The program offers customers the opportunity to save money on their electric heating costs by allowing Xcel Energy to control (interrupt) their primary electric heat source, during peak heating times (Oct - May). During an interruption, customers must be able to switch to their backup/dual fuel heat source
Central AC & Air Source Heat Pumps The installation property must be located in Minnesota and receive residential electricity service from Xcel Energy to qualify for the rebate. Rebates are given only to customers whose central air conditioner or air source heat pump was installed by a contractor who is a registered participant in Xcel Energy’s cooling program. Please note that ductless mini-split systems (AC and heat pumps) do not qualify for Xcel Energy rebate programs.
